KELLY JANTUNEN
Kelly J. Jantunen was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, and raised in Rochester, Michigan. Kelly attended Michigan State University, and as part of her studies, studied abroad in New South Wales, Australia. Kelly received a B.A. in Political Science in 2002. After Kelly’s undergraduate studies, she spent time working for a non-profit organization on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, and as a volunteer in Honduras.
Kelly attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she met and married Thomas Jantunen. During law school, Kelly interned at the Center for Medicare Advocacy in Washington, D.C., the Colorado Public Defender’s Office, and the Rocky Mountain Survivors Center. Kelly was also a member of the University of Denver Student Law Office, where she, and two other student attorneys, successfully represented employees in a federal wage and hour claim in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Kelly graduated from law school in May of 2007, and moved with her husband to Alaska shortly after graduation. Kelly was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 2008, and worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the State of Alaska in Palmer before moving to Juneau.
Kelly joined Baxter Bruce & Sullivan P.C., in 2008 as an associate.
