Cory Winchell was raised in Juneau, Alaska, graduating from Juneau Douglas High School. Cory graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, emphasizing History and French. He then attended Gonzaga University School of Law, graduating in May 1998 and passed the Washington State Bar in October 1998. Cory worked for the 1999 Alaska legislative session as staff counsel to the House Judiciary Committee. He subsequently moved to Arizona and served for five years as corporate counsel to a multi-state Professional Employer Organization. He passed the Arizona State Bar in 2002. In 2004, Cory moved to Port Orchard, Washington and practiced law in a real estate, corporate law, and bankruptcy firm for three years. He passed the Alaska State Bar in 2004, and in September 2007, Cory and his family returned to Juneau, Alaska.
Upon returning to Juneau, Alaska, Cory joined the firm Baxter, Bruce and Sullivan. Since joining the firm, he has continued his litigation practice in real estate and property matters, corporate, commercial contracts, business litigation, creditor and bankruptcy.
